Cut Trim or Merge Videodata on a MAC

He there,

as i just bought my new Macbook. Migrated from Lenovo Windows. I faced a lot of Mac-Noob problems.

As you can image I searched for all windows software, if there is a mac version.

More for that in later posts 🙂

One of the major things I do with my private computer is editing TV Recodrings or holyday videos.

On windows i used AVIDEMUX for that purposes.

And there is a MAC Version !!!

I recommend getting the latest Version!! 64 Bit!!

Raspberry Pi set static ip address

first stop raspberry from getting ip from dhcp server
by uninstalling anoying package dhcpcd5

apt-get purge dhcpcd5 (removes all dhcp client config)

then do as root:

nano /etc/network/interfaces

look like this

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.2.18
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.2.1

now the dns server

/etc/resolvconf.conf

nameserver 192.168.2.1
nameserver 8.8.8.8
service networking restart

Installing DVB S Card Firmware on Linux

In my case I got a DVBSky ReceiverCard DVBSKY S960C Usb Box.

This card is already recognized by the linux kernel.

As it was also recognized by tvheadend, I though everything went fine , but the card won’t give me a valid TV signal.

So I downloaded the driver from

http://www.dvbsky.net/Support_linux.html

copied them to

/lib/firmware/* (all of the files)

restarted the machine. And … it works!!!

For my other usb Sat Receiver I got the necessary infos from

https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Technisat_SkyStar_USB_HD

Its basically only the same firmware copy action as it was with the dvbsky receiver.

all worked with tvheadend now!
